Walk with us along the paths of Lyon’s saints, martyrs, leaders, and visionaries—from ancient times to today—where every step tells a story of faith, courage, and discovery that continues to inspire.
Go beyond monuments to uncover the living heart of Lyon’s Christian heritage, where faith, history, and the human spirit have shaped this remarkable city since the days of Rome.
Private coach tours and small groups requiring transport are also warmly welcomed.

Bonjour! I’m Máiréad, and I’d love to share with you the rich Christian heritage of Lyon, a city I now call home.
Born and raised in the west of Ireland, I studied Theology and Sociology at the Pontifical University of Ireland, later completing postgraduate studies in Pastoral Care & Humanities, a Higher Diploma in Education, and a Diploma in Project Management. My career has spanned teaching, travel, pastoral development, and an international food import and distribution business with my Polish husband — that connected us with food, culture, and people from around the world. But in 2014, our family found ourselves relocating to Lyon . . . . While famous for its food and wine, Lyon soon revealed to me an even greater treasure: its spiritual history. I discovered the story of the martyrs of 177, the witness of St Irenaeus, Lyon’s second bishop, and the long Christian tradition that shaped the city through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the French Revolution, and into modern times when Lyon became known as the capital of the French Resistance.
I am particularly drawn to Fourvière, the “soul of Lyon,” and its deep devotion to Our Lady of Fourvière. Living in the shadow of the Basilica is humbling and inspiring, a daily reminder of grace and enduring faith.
From these discoveries grew Christian Walking Tours of Lyon. My tours go beyond monuments and squares — they invite you to walk through Lyon’s living story of faith, uncovering the spiritual richness that gives its history depth and meaning.
Lyon is a treasure — and I would love to share its story with you.
